A small group of Harlequins made the long journey down to sunny Sussex for the British Middles and a long weekend in the bright sunshine and cold wind.

The British Middles took place at Holmbush and Buchan Woods – an interesting mix of very runnable woodland and thick, trouser-ripping rhododendron!

There were plenty of strong performances; Peter Blackmore and Craig Thompson both ran well in the M16 category whilst Chris McCartney took a very credible 12th place in the ever competitive M55 category.

However the two standout performances were Seb Blackmore finishing second (by just 18 seconds) in the M14s and Andy Hemsted who took home the M75 title to add another title to the long list.

A successful trip and no doubt we’ll have a lot more runners and success to toast next year when we host the Middles at Brown Clee!
