The fifth and sixth events of the NSL series have now been completed. First time planners Steve and Corrie Blackmore laid on a very well attended event in the Warndon district of Worcester, an area which has been host to several NSL events due to the excellent street orienteering that it offers with its intricate network of footpaths and pathways. The sixth event of the series was another ‘Richard Price special’ with a bumper crop of 99 controls to be collected in 90 minutes around the genteel neighbourhood of Tettenhall in Wolverhampton.  The unusual format encouraged Ben Crone to run 17.76km, closely followed by Steve Blackmore clocking up 16.5km. 

After these events, last year’s winners of the NSL Open leagues, Eloise Lee and Ben Crone head their respective classes. However, the next NSL event, which has been planned by Robert Vickers in Stourbridge, will be Eloise’s last HOC event as she and Simon are moving up to Sheffield. Will this let Mandy snatch the overall Women’s NSL title?

At present we just have one more NSL event in the calendar after the Stourbridge event. This event will be in Barnt Green on 27th February, and promises a fish and chip supper after our run, which will be based out of the Barnt Green cricket club, which we were going to use for our club championships and social in December before they had to be postponed due to Storm Darragh. Rather than lose our deposit Simon and Karen Thompson switched the date to allow them to run a NSL event from the venue.
