Harlequins’ Seb Blackmore represented England at the Ward Junior Home Internationals weekend, 11th & 12th October. Thanks to Steve Blackmore for his report and photos:

“Seb made his home debut for England this weekend at the WJHIs hosted by SWOC.  

The individual races took place at Merthyr Common on Saturday. With treacherous cliffs and pits, all competitors were required to carry phones but the England team took this in their stride and secured a commanding lead over Scotland.  In a strong M14 race, Seb was pleased with his 4th place.

Clydach Terrace hosted the relays (our very own Simon Thompson was controller for these and did an excellent job!) and Scotland roared back with excellent runs in the girls’ race to close the gap. An English 1st and 3rd in the boys’ race was enough for a tie with Scotland – with England taking the win courtesy of their superior number of successes on Saturday.
